Finally Apple, through their infinite graces, has bestowed upon man the ability to shoot video with the iPhone… and there was much rejoicing. But of course man has a way of being dissatisfied and people grouched about inferior lenses and a mic that’s always pointed towards the floor. Now the OWLE iPhone Video/Rig solves that problem using anodized billet aluminum, a mini boom-mic and a wide angle lens. Simply nestle your iPod inside the metal and silicone case of the OWLE and get ready to shoot the best iPhone video you’ve ever seen. Still shots turn out great as well. Mobile Phones with Projectors? Samsung’s Pico Projector Phone

TI’s tiny Digital Light Processing (DLP) chipset is now being used in around a dozen handheld devices such as Optoma’s PICO pocket projector. They offer the obvious benefits of being able to escape the shackles of small screen viewing while you are out and about. Integration into cell phones is the next logical step.

The Samsung Show is being released in Korea, but there’s no word yet on when it might be introduced into other markets. We haven’t yet received confirmed specs, but an OLED screen, 5 MP camera and haptic feedback we’re among the key attributes of the prototype on display at CES 2009. Mike Guillory from TI was kind enough to give us a demo – see the video below.

Samsung Unveils Wireless Digital Camera

The Samsung ST5500 digital camera made an appearance on the FCC today. The camera rocks some impressive specs, including a 14.2 megapixel resolution, 7x optical zoom, WiFi, and 3.5 inch LCD touch screen.

The ST5500 has 100 MB of onboard memory and supports microSD memory cards. The camera can take videos up to 1280×720 at 30 FPS. ISO on the ST5500 ranges from 80 to 3200, and the camera has a max 1/2000 shutter speed.

The wireless goodness on the ST5500 allows you to send photos and videos via email, or post photos and video to a website like YouTube. The ST5500 supports 802.11 b/g.

The ST5500 also allows you to output videos/photos via USB or component cables. The HDMI output does require an additional HDMI adapter, which is annoying.

Still, the ST5500 does pack a ton of features into a pretty compact package. 14.2 MP and HD quality video are key selling points here, and although the camera probably won’t be for sale this Christmas today’s FCC filing suggests that the ST5500 will be available in the Q1 2010 timeframe.

Nova DSLR concept reminds us that cameras need not be boring

This is an interesting concept for a DSLR camera. Conceived by Erin Fong, the idea is to allow for all sorts of hand holds thanks to the dual movable arms, and the controls at the fingertips seems surprisingly convenient. It seems a little bit harder to use and handle. I would love to get m hands on one of these bad boys and play around with it.
